We have a fantastic opportunity for a Accounts Payable Assistant to join the Moneycorp Finance team based in London, UK.  
  
The MoneyCorp Core Finance team is looking to strengthen it systems, processes and team knowledge to ensure we keep up with the Group’s rapid growth. To help improve the Group’s Financial Control capability, the need for an Accounts Payable Assistant has been identified. The Accounts Payable Assistant is responsible for all accounts payable related activities and has responsibilities for the various business lines and locations across the MoneyCorp Group. Key responsibilities would include:  
  • Ensuring payments are made to Suppliers and employees on a timely basis and that receipt of monies owed are paid as per our set out terms.
  • Liaise with Suppliers and colleagues ensuring Purchase Ledger system runs smoothly and efficiently
  • Supplier Invoice Processing
  • Maintaining account balances and investigating any discrepancies
  • Managing a variety of stakeholders across the business including Finance, Operations and IT
  • Managing any invoice queries to closure
  
The successful candidate will also become involved in project work to automate current procedures, improve the control environment, and will work with a number of senior people across the Finance and Cost Control functions of the Group.    
  
Key duties:  
  • Engage with and manage a broad stakeholder group across the business including Finance, Operations and IT
  • Ensure that priorities are agreed and clearly communicated to stakeholders
  • Coding and pre-posting invoices into SUN Financial System
  • Web based Procurement activity - IPOS processing and maintenance
  • Managing invoice queries to closure
  • Review of employee expenses prior to payment in line with company expense claim policy
  • Liaise with Suppliers and colleagues ensuring Purchase Ledger system runs smoothly and efficiently
  • Maintaining account balances and investigating any discrepancies
  • Working closely with Financial Control and providing support where necessary
  • Creating Monthly Sales Ledger Invoices for the Financial Institutions Group
  • Liaise with Customers and colleagues ensuring Sales Ledger system runs smoothly and efficiently
  • Maintaining account balances on a monthly basis
  • Providing support to all Group staff for any Sales Ledger issues that may arise
  • Creating statements and subsequently chasing payments
  • Ensure that the accuracy and completeness of supplier payments is captured across all Group companies 
  • Supporting Treasury to make daily manual bank transfers
  • Preparation and posting of weekly payments, employee expense claims and foreign payments
  • Providing support to all Group staff and external clients for any payment related issues that may arise
  • Financial Accounting
    • Ensure that transaction are appropriately and accurately processed
    • Producing Monthly statements
    • Posting Journals
  • Support the Finance team in the preparation of month end reporting as required
  • Produce ad hoc overdue letters
  • Assist in the Company credit card reconciliation process
  • Assist in CAPEX and Purchase order processes and tie up with Purchase Ledger
  • Ensuring that maintained files are archived on a regular basis
  • Continuous improvement
    • Maintain a log of Accounts Payable issues which require remediation and work with stakeholders to develop strategic solutions
    • Continuously evaluate existing processes and make changes which enhance efficiency and control
  
What we’re looking for / Skills that will help you in the role  
Knowledge and Experience:  
  • Minimum 3 years prior Purchase Ledger experience
  • Experience of working within financial services and regulated entities
  • Experience of multi-site, multi-currency and multi-divisional organisation
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Clear strong communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong analytical abilities, with an enquiring mind
  • Ability to build relationships with stakeholders at varying levels of seniority
  • Technically competent on Microsoft Office programs.  Knowledge of SUN desirable.
