Who You Are / Your Next Challenge

We have a new opportunity for a Finance Data Specialist to join the Finance team at Moneycorp. The successful candidate will add value to the bottom line by using data effectively across Finance & Treasury. They will have responsibility to work on specific Finance Transformation and multiple other strategic projects to accelerate the Finance month end using data analytics, modelling and intelligence to promote efficiency.

Their previous experience will be valuable in supporting the Finance & Treasury systems suite and their users including Purchase Ledger system, Expense system, General ledger, trading platforms and supporting SQL databases.

Key Accountabilities include: 

  • Knowledge of SQL, Data Extraction and Transformation 
  • Responsibility of  the end to end implementation of the Finance data warehouse project 
  • Takes ownership of the Finance System Infrastructure
 
What we’re looking for / Skills that will help you in the role 
Knowledge and Experience:
  • Extensive SQL and Access Database experience including configuration of databases and stored procedures.
  • Extensive experience of interfacing between the GL system and supporting trading/source systems.
  • Experience of working within financial services and regulated entities.
  • Experience of end-to-end process flows and data quality management of FX or volume payments processes or wholesale banking physical notes business preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with large data reconciliations
  • Previous experience of working in a fast-paced finance environment.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Advance IT skills most notably with programming languages such as VBA, VB Script, SQL and MS packages specifically Excel (including pivot tables) or equivalent is essential.
  • Proficient use of Visual Basic and SQL and using both to apply to reconciliations and processes.
  • Experience working with Python would be desirable but not essential
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Good analytical abilities, with an enquiring mind.
  • Robust, capable of clearly and strongly articulating position.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to think analytically and work methodically in a high performing team.   
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a SQL Analyst / Developer with a focus on BI and production-level code.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, T-SQL, and experience working with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL)
  • Knowledge of software development best practices and ability to write production-level performant SQL code.
  • A recognised Finance qualification is desirable but not essential
This position is full-time, permanent, The role is expected to be office based in London as part of the Finance team. However, we have an agile flexible working policy which enables you to work up to 2 days from home if desired.
